We should preface this piece by saying that yes, this is a $99 baseball hat and yes, We do realize that for most (if not all of you) the idea of buying a nearly triple digit baseball hat might be enough to make you close this window faster than a Walter Johnson fastball, but like all things baseball related, if you study the stats, we think this hat is actually worth the money.

First and foremost, these caps, like all Ebbets Field Flannels, are constructed in their Seattle, Washington factory to vintage specs for that old school, soft-crown, curved brim look. As a result, you can pick from a variety of panel designs and brim sizes, to find the perfect shape for your head. From there, you can choose whatever color combination and exclusive emblem that you’ve come up with, and after sending all that info to customorders (at) ebbets.com you’ll have a totally custom hat in just about eight weeks. Which brings us to the most important stat of all: one, because what you’re really paying for is a hat that no one else will ever have, and that my friends, is worth every penny.

The barometer hit 99 today, so it’s difficult right now to wrap my brain around the idea of wrapping my head in wool. Still, those are nice lids.
From their website:
“Please note: Historic vintage baseball caps or unlettered caps only, we regret that we can no longer accept single-piece orders for other types of custom caps. Minimum for other custom caps is 24 pieces.”
Still cool, but kind of a bummer.
I have dozens of caps from EFF and they are wonderful. I had them make an order of caps for one of the minor league teams that used to play in my area and got a bunch of guys together to split the order. It is neat to explain who the team was, when and where they played when asked about the unfamiliar design.
The last cap was the EFF x BillyKirk collab
