ACL’s favorite band U.S. Royalty teamed up with some downtown New York director kid named Jake Davis (never heard of him), on one helluva cool video for the group’s anthem (“banger” as my buddy Jeff likes to say) “Every Summer.” In true Jake Davis form, the video captures the raw energy of one of U.S. Royalty’s live performances. The fellas were kind enough to send over the sneak peek, first look, advance link whatever you want to call it. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I love it when good things come together. If you don’t own the record and haven’t seen these guys live you are missing out. Link: U.S. Royalty

Great band, Great video. Expecting big things from this band.
Zach Galifianakis!
Sorry, but this band is pretty dreadful…
oy. I’m officially over the hipster bullshit.
God bless flying embers
i love u.s. royalty! the band is awesome, as is the video.
..and i’m not being biased, because i’m not even hipster.
I think calling things ‘hipster’ in derision is the ultimate hipster move, no?
you cant stop genius…if this is hipster, then hipster’s fucking rule you retard!
I’ve seen them live and they put on a crazy nice show.
I wouldn’t consider U.S. Royalty hipster. I like U.S. Royalty. I hate hipsters.
US Royalty, good friends happy to see how far they have come in such a short time. easily would say they are not hipsters, they’re a bunch of just dudes
this is the first time i heard this band. they have a really solid sound. is 8/25 when the album hits stores? i want to listen to more!
Great band.
I dunno, I’m not the biggest fan, but this is the first time I’m encountering them. It’s funny I was just listening to The Temper Trap (just downloaded it, not sure if anyone else does) and I paused it to listen to this video. If I were to compare the 2, I’d say TTT is miles ahead…I think the leads voice is killer.
Not crazy about the band, suppose they’re ok. The video on the other hand is unequivocally mediocre.
boooooooring. a rare lapse in taste from acl.
how do i buy or download this song? can’t seem to find it.
Yea, this is super mediocre. I think real punk rockers need to come back and eat people like this for lunch.
agreed!
the boys are all great. hipsters? who gives a fuck.
the guys are fantastic musicians and the singer has an awesome voice. heard john singing while washing dishes without music playing along and he still has talent. i’ve also had the pleasure of seeing these guys perform and they give a killer live show. i’m a fan of this song. punk rock? i’m a fan. the temper trap? love em (especially their hit on the 500 days of summer soundtrack), but totally different genre of music. can’t compare US Royalty to these other bands because it’s a whole different game. they’re a great band and a band with great people. LOVE IT.
These guys are from my hometown (D.C.) and they put on a good live show. If you are unimpressed with the video but like the genre, try to see them live. The video doesn’t do a great job of capturing lead singer John Thornley’s on stage energy but it’s nice enough for something I’m sure was shot on a low budget.
They have only been around for a short while. Why are there expecations for a band to be awesome before it drops it’s first album? What’s wrong with giving them a chance?
ugggghh, the unmotivated camera moves and intentionally bad follow focus in this video make me queasy.
wow, these guys sound great!
