Life Archive | Four Eyes

While a lot of the photographs in the Life archive are staged, there also exists an abundance of natural sartorial expression. As I sorted through the vast collection of images I started to pick up on the eyewear throughout the years on everyone from Joseph Kennedy to Le Corbusier. A group of my favorites after the jump.

I love the Moscots in the last picture. Classic.

Great photos. I like that you chose the main picture of him with a “…the fuck?” kind of expression.

I don’t think those are Moscots. I belive they are Tart Opticals the now-defunct maker of the Arnel (Johnny Depp’s glass), FDR, and other frames which have inspired Moscots.

I realize it’s been brought up before, but a slideshow would be a nice way to do things of this sort.

    Good work as usual.

The slideshow options I have at present (hosted on WordPress.com) are less then appealing. When the site redesign is complete (hopefully by July 1) I will do these sorts of things in a better slide show.

    The world needs more monocles.

I second that motion for more monocles. I actually saw an old man in Washington Sq. Park using one to read the newspaper the other day…put a smile on my face.
