Living Off the Fat of the Land

Looks like Mom and Dad read ACL – some of my spot-on Christmas gifts are pictured below. In addition to the items seen here, I also scored a classic Lands’ End attache bag in navy. Plus, a monogrammed set of Tervis Tumblers (the original, made in Flordia) from my biz partner and her wonderful mother. Thank you, thank you! What did you all get? What did you want?

My nice union made Carhartt from Midwest Workwear.

U.S. Navy blanket from Faribault Woolen Mills

Tervis Tumblers, perfect for Dark ‘N’ Stormy season…

    Those are some great gifts.
I had a few pleasant surprises as I received a Filson Mackinaw vest and cap, Church’s travel slippers, and my grandfather’s flask from WWII.

    Happy holidays good sir.

the land’s end attache looks good. i am wondering, can you tell us if it has room enough for a laptop (a macbook pro to be specific).

    thanks, always enjoy your posts.

Michael Williams on December 27, 2008 7:46 PM:

I have a 15″ MacBook Pro and the attache fits it easily…

Got a great pair of red wing boots that I originally saw on this site. So thanks!

    BobT on December 27, 2008 10:37 PM:

Two pairs of comfy ralph lauren pajamas, a filofax and a box of 100 percent cotton handkerchief’s. (Important to have on hand at all times being a new father)

Like the thermos think I will pick one up. My coffee is always cold by the time I get to work. I’m old school, I have to have my Chock Full O nuts with lite cream and two sugars.

Hugo Guinness framed print and…oh yeah a son!

Erick Olson on December 29, 2008 3:57 AM:

Is the jacket a Duck Traditional Coat / Arctic Quilt Lined model?

Erick Olson on December 29, 2008 3:58 AM:

Also, is it comparable in size with other brands?

Erick Olson on December 29, 2008 3:59 AM:

Sorry, I didn’t even see the second picture. But the second question still holds. I really like the jacket.

    Ron W on December 29, 2008 10:32 AM:

Nice gifts indeed! George Trumper’s Limes shave cream from Ben Silver (expensive, but lasts several weeks longer than traditional foam in a can), 100% badger shave brush from The Art of Shaving, a 20mm NATO watch band in black for my Omega 300m Seamaster (mid sized case…too small on me but I’m trying to make it work…for sale?), Sony DVD player to replace the one I stole from my own bedroom to put in the kids’ playroom), Krupps coffee maker from in-laws, some shirts and a couple of ties from Jos A. Bank (don’t say it), and the plantation halter plate belt from Stafford’s in Thomasville from my dear wife.

    Merry New Year!
