Short Sleeved | Gitman Bros. Vintage SS14

Every season at Pitti the guys from Gitman Bros Vintage do a little something playful, this year that meant making every sample in a short sleeve button-down, nearly all of them in crazy colored prints. I attribute all of this quirkiness to Gitman’s Minnesota bred leader Chris Olberding.

When I say “leader”, I mean to say that Chris is part designer and sales guy, part PR man and production manager. Along with his lone deputy, he’s basically a one man show. Some of you might remember him from one of the Pop Up Flea, where he would be hawking his Pennsylvania made wovens with much enthusiasm. That type of energy is his modus operandi. Anyone at one of the many European or North American tradeshows would agree, as would the staff of Gilli I’m guessing.

The spring / summer 2014 Gitman Bros Vintage collection seems to be drawing on the same source of energy. Crazy patterns, dirty lady prints and lots of color. Like Chris, it’s all a lot of fun.

Not one to want to wait? You can see some other versions of all of this craziness in the Summer 2013 collection which is on Gitman’s nice little online shop. [GITMAN BROS. VINTAGE]

I passed the stand during Pitti. Couldn’t resist to compliment the owner . Great stuff. He gave me a sleazy looking business card resembling a titty bar invite. It said ” For a good shirt ” call Chris…….

Thanks so much for The American List. Not sure if you ever add to it, and I’m not sure if they meet your requirements, but I just backordered a swimsuit from Rey Swimwear (website says they’re made in the US–that was one of the deciding factors for me, besides the fact that I really, really like the design).

Love them! I don’t often be too adventurous myself but i reckon a good few prints like these are perfect for the summer wardrobe. I’d definitely opt for some of these!
