Our ever-changing short-term (summer) shop Pop Up Flea is popping back up in Manhattan this coming May 8th through the 10th in Chelsea. Our annual spring/summer event has become the perfect warm weather counterbalance to our long running and extremely popular December event. It’s a lighter and brighter version of PUF with a nice mix of brands you know (Alexander Olch, Fred Perry Laurel Wreath, Ernest Alexander, Leather Head Sports, Rancourt & Co, Freemans Sporting Club and TUDOR) and a bunch of brands you need to know (Dom Vetro, Corridor, Canvas Bag Machine, Martenero and Accompany). And it’s all here in NYC for one short weekend. We’ve made a point to keep the schedule tight so every event is interesting, unique and full of great brands. So in addition to our two NYC events and our annual trip to Tokyo, we’ve added a new city this fall to round out our 2015 Pop Up Flea events. Hey Los Angeles, we’re looking at you. More to come on that and a complete vendor list for PUFSUN will show up soon, so keep an eye on this page for more info.

We’re also excited to see the reemergence of Mister Mort who returns to PUF with his offbeat collection of things after a short five year hiatus. And for the first time, one of our favorite swimwear brands Onia will be selling their excellent collection of swimwear and the company’s new expanded collection of clothing. It’s going to be a great room full of well-made and interesting things that will help get your summer started off right. See you at the Pop Up Flea.

This week, we hit the streets (with Drones-in-hand thanks to our crack director Kellen Dengler) to give you a taste of what to expect from this weekend’s Pop Up Flea here in NYC. We visited with a handful of local friends and PUF vendors to see the awesomeness that they have planned for this weekend’s event. Be sure to come by the Met Pavilion to #ShopSmall this weekend to experience PUF in its full seventy-plus vendor glory.

After traveling around the world these past few months, next weekend The Pop Up Flea lands back home in New York City just in time for the holidays. This is the grand poobah of all The Pop Up Flea’s, with over seventy brands  joining us at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea for our largest event ever. From five year vets like Billykirk, Alexander Olch, and Tanner Goods to first-timers Waltzing Matilda, Garrett Wade, Tudor and Askov Finlayson we’ll have all the finely crafted curiosities that you’ve come to expect from team PUF since 2009. Adding to the New York event this year will an indigo dying station from Buaisou, which we first introduced earlier this year in Japan and many more options for one-of-a-kind finds. This is the big one, so don’t miss it. More info and the complete brand list after the jump.

Pop Up Flea Tokyo 2014_27

If you were following along on Instagram, you would have known that this past weekend we took Pop Up Flea to Tokyo for the first time. We set up shop with a good mix of American and Japanese brands, plus pour-over coffee, custom indigo dying and lots of exclusive items. As one PUF visitor described on Instagram, it was a real deal “American Culture Festival.”  Being the first time we have taken Pop Up Flea so far from home, we were curious to see how the concept would resonate in a place as culturally different as Japan. With a core group of long-supporting brands and an outstanding crew to help us, we succeeded in making the first ever Pop Up Flea Tokyo a huge success.

A very special thanks to Tanner Goods, Tellason, Rancourt & Co., The Hill-Side / Hickoree’s, Filson, Red Wing Heritage, General Knot, The Good Flock, Billykirk, Field Notes, Freemans Sporting Club and Topo Designs for continuing to travel near and far in the name of Pop Up Flea.

The Pop Up Flea Takes Tokyo

Oct 21st, 2014 | Categories: Pop Up Flea | by Jake Gallagher

Next week we’re packing up and shipping out as the Pop Up Flea rises in the Land of the Rising Sun. That’s right, we’re taking PUF halfway around the world to bring all of that Americana goodness to Tokyo for the first time ever. We might be strangers in a strange land, but we’re bringing along some familiar faces including the largest and most complete offering from Filson ever to hit Japan. Adding to our recognizable roster of American brands are some of Japan’s finest including Brown’s Beach Cloth, Button Works, and a custom indigo dying booth. The address, info and brand list is below.
