As it Happened | East Ended

This weekend was spent on a mission to get out of Dodge. With the heat being what it has been this Summer, its been a good year to get out the city as much as possible. Luckily, I’ve been able to escape to the beach most weekends. The setting for the past few enjoyable days has been the leafy and well-heeled enclaves of the East End.

Put simply, I’m not a regular in either Montauk or the Hamptons, but I did manage to see some interesting stuff. Saturday in particular, we popped over to the East Hampton Antique Show and spent some time off the beach perusing the offerings of about fifty dealers from all over the East Coast. Obviously there weren’t any super deals to be found, but it was nice to get some inspiration for what to look for on eBay or other flea markets. I even spotted an Ovadia on the grass out there. All in all, not a bad way to enjoy a few sunny summer days.

oh wow, those vintage swimsuits! We wear similar ones at the Lawn Party on Governors Island, Michael. You’d get a kick out it. The next one is in mid August.

Those vintage swimsuits are very cool! I’m ignorant – is that a table top or a board game (which would be awesome)?
