The nice weather got us thinking, when is it going to be cold again so we can start buying new fall jackets? Actually we didn’t really think that, but we did come across these photos from the last round of trade shows of the the Woolrich John Rich & Bros AW11 collection and figured now is as good as time as any to start thinking about fall outerwear. These two jackets were the standout pieces from the new fall collection and were designed by, (you guessed it!) none other than our hero, Tokihito-san.
The man is a jacket designing machine, consistently turning out coats we want to buy and these two are no different. We have so much faith in Tokihito, we’d like to see him go head to head with Mr. Cabourn in a battle of outerwear, reality TV style. May the best man win.

THE ARMY GYM
Designed to look like an old army gymnasium, the floors are made of concrete and aged wooden planking with vintage army lockers to display the clothing. The changing room resembles an old shower cubicle and giant metal and wood sliding doors line the far walls. This small but beautiful shop showcases the collections so well and has been a great success since it’s first day and we are now looking to open another store in Japan very soon.

I’m not so sure I’m with you on these two. Of the two the one above is the better of the two, but I must admit that when it comes to these kind of iconic brands, the older designs speak far more louder to me. Your milage may vary, of course – but thats just me.
I will admit to a lack of interest in the multiple fabrics kind of jacket (the lower jacket posted) – somehow it speaks to me of wanting to be more than what it really is.

The hoods are distracting and the lower jacket seems like some kind of a mash up between a ‘donkey jacket’ and a field coat – It’s not particularly successful to my eyes
But I suppose that variety is the spice of life ….

sickness! they look nice but i’m not thinking about the fall at ALL though. i just want this rain and cold (boston) to skat!!
That 2nd jacket looks perfect for New York on those not infrequent days when it’s sort of spitting rain/mist/fog, and all you have to do is get from home to subway to work to bar then back home…keep your shoulders and arms dry while not being too techy or old-salt oilclothy…nice find.
