- Gear Patrol co-founder Eric Yang got his hands on a Fujifilm X100 and I secretly hate him for it. [Gear Patrol] [Pictured]
- Fellow Clevelander Eric Kvatek found a congressman’s old Vietnam-era field jacket in a thrift store. [Dispatches]
- Foster Huntington started a new site that I would have named “My Favorite Stuff, Which When Neatly Laid Out in a Photo, Happens to Coincidentally Look Like A Less Violent Version of Everyday Carry but With Homeowners Insurance” [The Burning House]
- Things I recently learned: Valet has a new column and Sid Mashburn wears a Rolex Explorer to the beach. [Wants & Needs at Valet]
- American-looking (but actually foreign) college students entertaining themselves with nothing but a phone booth c.1959 [LIFE] [Thanks Andy]

This camera looks sexy
you got a pammy!? NICE!
That’s Eric Yang’s hamburger watch, not mine!
Those aren’t American college students in the last picture. Based on the TTC sign in the background, I’d say that’s Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Great looking camera. I’ve got a similar one – Olympus EP-1 – and it’s amazing. Can’t praise it enough. Just saying.
So, is the name of that (suits?) emporium across the street really “Continuous Lean?”
Nebraska has the best thrift stores in the entire fucking world.
Ah, no true rangefinder is complete without the greatest threat known to RF photography: a Lens Cap!
Re: The Burning House.
As someone that has had to run out of their house while the building is on fire you don’t generally have time or the place of mind to collect your favourite things. We lost EVERYTHING in the fire, I left with the clothes I was wearing, my wallet and house keys.
Awesome way of re-stating Foster’s Burning House… very clever.
What is the make and model of the watch displayed next to the camera.
A true beauty of a time piece
DPreview have just posted a pretty comprehensive review of the Fuji camera…

Thanks Bork. I updated the text to reflect that those aren’t actually real American college students.
Michael, what do you mean by Hamburger Watch is that a shot at Panerai? While I know this is mostly a blog about American made things, I always wondered how you feel about Panerai.
On the Life photo (bottom link), is it just me or does the guy on the right side of the image look like a young Mr. Burns from the Simpsons…
Elias, he looks more like Crispin Glover as George McFly to me. But I can see the Burns as well.
