Cash always had style, but Carter, well, hmmm…

Kris Kristofferson is an American Treasure.
Johnny and June as well. Happy Hump Day
Mr Cash I share a birthday, February 24th. Kindered souls, I tell you what.
… 26th
70s country is simply a treasure.
I’ve been stocking up, lately, on Raven Records (Australia) re-issues.
Just got a couple of Johnny Paycheck two-fers; a Bobbie Gentry two-fer; some Glen Campbell.
So many of the country stars that (even briefly) reached crossover status aren’t given their due as serious country stalwarts. The best of them are simply hidden in plain sight.
It’s great to see these back catalogs resurface with the original, complete recordings. “Best-ofs” just don’t get it done.
You can never go wrong with Johnny Cash.
Love Johnny & June, thank you! needed help moving through this rainy afternoon.
I’ll Fly Away is a great closing song for a funeral….I have seen it done, pretty moving.
Hotter than a peppered sprout
A great cover of “In My Life,” too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlhcyWLORes&feature=BF&list=FLy3QT7X8YnCo&index=6
