70s country is simply a treasure.
I’ve been stocking up, lately, on Raven Records (Australia) re-issues.
Just got a couple of Johnny Paycheck two-fers; a Bobbie Gentry two-fer; some Glen Campbell.
So many of the country stars that (even briefly) reached crossover status aren’t given their due as serious country stalwarts. The best of them are simply hidden in plain sight.
It’s great to see these back catalogs resurface with the original, complete recordings. “Best-ofs” just don’t get it done.
