Reppin My City

In my mind, the guys from Columbus, O. based Homage do tee shirts better than anyone. The physical shirts are super nice (not to mention made in America), plus the designs are old school classic and insidery. Homage has succeeded in elevating the often sad graphic tee to higher levels. My appreciation for the company and their shirts is of course heightened by our shared allegiance to the Buckeye state. The thing is, I’m not really a tee shirt guy, but I keep finding myself going back for more. This morning I picked up this wine & gold “Cleveland is the City” number to rep my city through the NBA playoffs. More cities after the jump.

CLEVELAND IS THE CITY

The love is not limited to Columbus or Cleveland, but is centered around sports and the guys do a helluva job keeping it fun and fresh.

    Best. Tee shirt. Ever.
    10-cent Beer Night
    Cleveland Municipal Stadium

    I love this town!

    Christina on April 30, 2010 10:39 AM:

Haha the Detroit one is awesome. But I would also be sporting a Cleveland tee.

    Dave on April 30, 2010 10:42 AM:

Really dig the designs. The Cincy one’s great – so are NYC and Ten Cent Beer Night. Too bad they’re mostly cotton/poly blends. Call me richard petty, but $30’s a bit much for a shirt that isn’t all cotton.

MW – The tees look legit. And I’m sure you’ll really be wearing that tee more often, now that LeBron’s going to be announced as MVP — Back-to-Back.

Bobby Rieg on April 30, 2010 11:15 AM:

    I want one!

    Dulany on April 30, 2010 11:15 AM:

Great t-shirts. Love the site (though I wish they had more detroit/michigan oriented tees). One question for those who’ve ordered from the: How true to size do they run?

    jason on April 30, 2010 11:42 AM:

Dulany, in my opinion they run small but I’m also not a stick.

As a fellow Buckeye, I really love this brand. Their Ohio State t-shirts are amazing. You should check them out sometime. Go Bucks!!!

    Shawn on April 30, 2010 11:43 AM:

Another home run!!! Just spent my pay check on some t’s. (yeah, I ordered a lot, but got free shipping) Wish I would have for Sat’s game vs. Btown….

    doane on April 30, 2010 11:53 AM:

Yellow on Maroon. My absolute favorite t-shirt color combo.

    Thad on April 30, 2010 11:58 AM:

I would go for the Phi Slama Jama T-shirt!

Btw, gotta love any site that has an old photo of Coach K playing at West Point when I open it!

    Blake on April 30, 2010 12:19 PM:

Just snagged a NYC shirt – thanks for the post

    Joseph on April 30, 2010 1:52 PM:

    Wondering about size, too…

“American Apparel” small or regular small?

ad ease on April 30, 2010 2:04 PM:

Im a huge fan of HOMAGE Ts. The fit is awesome and the handfeel even better. NYC shirt is my stand-by. Im just bummed I didnt pick up the Woody Allen T they had a while back. i think they dropped it when American Apparel was sued by him for that billboard.

    antimatt on April 30, 2010 3:11 PM:

Cleveland is the city that we come from so run, run.

    Dave on April 30, 2010 3:16 PM:

Very nice, although the Detroit one’s probably in poor taste. Maybe that’s the point, though, coming from an Ohio company and all.

    Ryan on April 30, 2010 3:47 PM:

Awesome stuff. A bit expensive but some of the designs are just too good to pass up. The shirts looks slim so I’m thinking they run similar to American Apparel – can someone confirm this please?

    Patrick on April 30, 2010 7:06 PM:

Thank you so much for posting this!
I’ve been a huge Homage fan for a while; the founder, Ryan Vesler, went to my high school (and he still makes shirts just for us!).
For the people asking, the shirts are slimish fitting and VERY soft!
Their mix of fabrics is probably the reason for their higher price. But you get what you pay for–they are some of my favorite shirts that I own.

    Donovan on May 2, 2010 2:38 PM:

    #shoutout to Columbus, Ohio.

    slim on May 2, 2010 4:48 PM:

The Detroit one’s all clever and stuff…
if you’re wearing it around Ann Arbor or some such place, where all you really need to worry about is having your bike stolen, but, if you’ve actually spent some time in Detroit, well, then, the guns are real!
Reality has a funny way of ignoring irony.

    Anyhow, nice shirts otherwise.

    Troy on May 2, 2010 5:06 PM:

    Big ups to Akron!

    Marcellus on May 3, 2010 12:52 PM:

Homage is all over the place here in Columbus. Their OSU stuff is very cool–just wish they produced some Yankees gear!

    Logan on May 8, 2010 9:09 PM:

So many sports/college tees are awful, but these look great. Been looking for a vintage feel Kent State tee (my alma mater)

    Octavio on May 12, 2010 5:55 PM:

My homage NYC tee is the most comfortable and softest t-shirt I own. I would wear it daily if it weren’t for the fact that I want to keep it for a very long time. I absolutely love it. I was living in Columbus for a while and Ryan (owner) is really awesome. He has done an amazing job..
