Nerd Alert | Apollo 11 in HD

The amazing footage above of Apollo 11 was shot on 16mm and then converted digitally to HD. Plus, more film from the famed lunar landing below. These things were just too good for me not to post.

A magnificent, high-definition, slow-motion shot of mankind’s greatest achievement, utterly ruined by a chatty narrator. Just sit back, man! Enjoy the view!

I wish I was talented enough to extract the audio and put this to music.

A statement on the value of FILM in capturing extremely important and valuable images. Great Historical Records! Great dynamic range, high speed (Exposure Index) relative to HD capture cameras!

I liked the narration on the launch video. I guess i just like knowing how things work.
