Brilliant interview, but then I cruise on over to JackSpade.com and I am finding tote bags that look like LL Bean placed on a warming plate. I mean, c’mon they do a lot better at Kate Spade. Bespoke utilitarianism for men is not an oxymoron, but I am finding it incredibly hard to find.

And also, I could do without the long explanation of why he started making bags. He started making bags because his wife was making bags.

I knew there was a reason I liked Jack Spade stuff–Andy’s a Patagonia fan! They obviously have two very different markets in mind, but integrity and good quality are at least two of their commonalities.
