i saw her a few years ago at a hole in the wall in baltimore. i’ve been in love with that woman’s voice for a long time now. she can almost single-handedly prove that vocal tone is everything. metal heart off jukebox was on repeat for DAYS.

My two favorite female voices today are Cat Power and Jenny Lewis. Substance and style! Glad they’re not huge pop stars. Could you imagine them in that pathetic remake of We Are the World? That was horrendous.
