Looks like the folks at the Ace Hotel are taking their material collaborations East, all the way East to Tokyo. The burgeoning Pacific Northwest hotel group opened a holiday pop up shop late last week on the 5th floor of the Shinjuku Isetan. If you have ever been to that Isetan store you will know, that baby is a monster with a pretty amazing variety of some of the best the world has to offer. The Ace shop looks great and I’m sure will be a big hit with the Japanese.
More info from Ace founder Alex Calderwood’s blog on Arkitip. The pop up shop will stock collaborations with: “Mackintosh & Various Projects, Wings + Horns, Pendleton, FjallRaven, Coto, Surface to Air, Rudy’s Barbershop, Pearl Plus, Generic Man, Arkitip, Evan Hecox and more. The shop is open now through the 25th.”

Hi
Yes, ACE hotel is very famous in Japan. When you come to Tokyo, please let me know!
Ken
Awesome! I want to do this somewhere in Portland!
Its not that famous in Tokyo… They JUST announced their presence in Tokyo’s “Fashion Closet” Isetan!! Their conceptual “Hotel” identity is a sweet-spot, that no Japanese companies dare try operating, except CLASKA.
They should open a ACE HOTEL themed “capsule” hotel in Harajuku or Shinjuku… something that is unique and hip.
ha! That backpack there is a “Fjällräven” bag from Sweden, and those used to be the dorkiest bags ever. Are they cool now?
Alexandra, I have never seen as many people wearing Fjällräven clothes as here in Umeå in northern Sweden where I live. Alot of alternative people wear Fjällräven backpacks.
I love stores like this. They should bring this to NYC.
