haha. the japanese do have very interesting looks. especially with the way they distress denim.
but their unique styles are admirable. certainly not good looks for the Western world. you’d eat too many punches wearing the things Japanese fashionistas wear

The Japanese have a fascination with all that is foreign. Many Japanese think that Westerners or more attractive and more stylish than the Japanese people themselves–a kind of “reverse racism,” if you will. Using white models makes a product look more cosmopolitan and ups its coolness, so many companies use white models for just that reason.

I personally am wearing a hello kitty t-shirt to match my lunchbox right now. what is this “Beams” you speak of? I do like that Safari jacket tho.

Growing up in Japan in the ’70s, I drooled over Beams stuff but could not fit into any of it
at 6ft tall and with swimmer’s shoulders. In my early thirties I squeezed into a jacket after loosing 10 lbs just for that purpose but my son lost it the first time he borrowed it.
So good luck to you guys with shoulders (and butts) if you come across any of their original stuff. Meanwhile I will just steal the styling from this catalogue.
