I have deep respect for the Jake Davis blog, keep up the good work. As for clear lens glasses, I’m voting no. Like you, Jake, I have no need for corrective lenses and like you love the look but glasses are not earrings and your look is sharp and smart regardless. Not unlike my distaste for the sunglasses indoors move, the fake prescriptions have yet to sway me in acceptance. I fear I’ll have to wait for my elder years.

I have to chime in on this one because I’ve been having the debate with all different types of people about the clear lenses. These Paola Belles are absolutely not prescription. I was on the fence about wearing clear frames for a year. “Am I a faker?” It wasn’t until a good friend said, “if you love ‘em what difference does it make?”

And that’s how I feel about style. People wear baseball caps everyday. They’re not playing ball or blocking out the sun. They just look good. And I don’t know any other way to top of the “pervie look” without my Paolo Belles.

One question – and if it doesn’t apply to the well-dressed fellow here my sincere apologies. Are those real glasses with corrective lenses, or are those just plain clear plastic? As a very poorly-sighted individual myself, I’m getting pretty tired of people rocking the Urkle style when they have no eye problems. This is like if I were to just roll around in a wheel chair because I thought they looked cool and ironic. Not exactly, but in a small superficial way, yes. I need to wear those things to survive man!
