As you all well know, the esteemed Mister Mort is always a natty dresser. Last week we met up to go see some vintage airplanes on Long Island and Mister Mort showed up in the most amazing hat from Supreme’s SS09 collection. I have been on the look out for a good mesh back hat (if you can believe it), ever since a few months ago when I was reminded of the great looking blue hat that Mr. Levon Helm rocked in The Last Waltz. Tongue in cheek patriotism at its finest (in the title) and below.
That’s a great hat, and even greater sentiment.

I’ve had my fair share of mesh back hats, and I will have to say that nothing beats a good ol’ canvas hat. I’ve have one from my Freshman year of college that I can’t seem to veer away from.
Ah, mesh hats…no.
This is the only acceptable mesh hat I have seen in a while. I rocked a nice High Life one I found at a thrift store back in high school, and then every D-bag and their mom (and the guys from Backstreet Boys) started wearing ones from Hollister and Abercrombie. Once the kid on the OC started making fun of them, I knew they a had really jumped off.
But I could see myself wearing this during yard work and post-yard work beers; it fucking rocks.
Rad. I’d wear it. Wish I had it yesterday.
This could be a very interesting experiment MW. The start of the 3rd or 4th trucker hat incarnation. The timing for a low-key, mesh style trucker seems right considering all the Ed hardy eye sores that grace our streets today.

I believe this inarguably romantic sentiment can be applied somehow to the “designers” of ed hardy and von dutch.

Firstly, can someone get a comment restraining order on crazy bob, holy hell.
Secondly, the looks Levon Helm can pull off, playing and living up to his role as the only American member of the band, are perhaps better left appreciated rather than simulated.
I have a pretty cool collection of net back hats.
One of my favorites is a vintage Oakland A’s. Also another one that gets some head time is a nice orange one that says “Farming is everyones bread and butter”

Don’t know if I could pull off the mesh hat, but the patch is great. One Trip Pass has a great chore coat with naval patches on it with a huge embroidered ‘LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT’ on the back.

My sister scored a back seat’s worth of mesh hats, or “netted nasties” as she termed them, at Goodwill a couple of years ago. Crucial.

Is this hat available for purchase anywhere?
It’s a safe bet that someone commenting on ACL has a penchant for classic/americana. I’m no exception. And street/skatewear is definitely not my style. However, Supreme is and always will be my favorite clothing/acc. brand. I’ve gotten a snap-back every season for the past couple of years, most recently, the “Highly Decorated Supreme”. The brand’s understated irony compliments any personal style you could contrive.
…and to John, they have a store in SoHo and L.A. Also, check out supremenewyork.com for the online store. Not sure if that specific hat is on there, and most stuff sells out the day it drops.
This, combined with a copy of the sorely under-appreciated Ed Anger book, would make a lovely gift to the ungrateful commie in one’s life.
I live mesh caps cause it gets hot in LA. So long as you don’t have tigers fighting skulls eating dragons stitched on there I am good.

Supreme is probably the only staple in my wardrobe besides J.Crew.
I know ACL has covered them before but Pointer makes some nice caps, one that is mesh-backed (and a third that just looks bad).
