There is a lot of talk about gentlemen shoppers drinking fine bourbon at Billy Reid. Well, last night at Ned Martel and Jay Carroll’s geniusly merchandised vintage shop / Americana explosion One Trip Pass, the drinking was taken to the next level when a group of grown men decided to shotgun a beer in the store. Shotguning beers always reminds me of The Sure Thing, one of my favorite movies of all-time. Conan O’Brien had James Lipton shotgun a beer on his show in honor of the film.
Reports of shotgun mention on ACL hit my radar from England. Brilliant. Just sad I wasn’t there to partake in the fraternal experience but glad to know I’m not the only adult that still enjoys the practice of shotgunning a beer. Hope I was there in spirit at least, MW. Unfortunately I’m surrounded by canned beer and the Brits aren’t nearly as open to the concept. Cheers mate!
