Excellent interview!! I have always been a huge fan of Mr. Boyer. However, I beg to differ with Mr. Boyer when he says you are "nothing" if you don't wear a pair of John Lobb's or Cleverley shoes. Apparently Mr. Boyer isn't quite familiar with Bontoni or Kiton shoes.

Scott B

Most people who keep up with Ivy Style (the website and the clothing) are well aware of Mercer. I hear their shirts are great quality but incredibly roomy. That being said, it would be awesome for a company like Mercer and Sons to get the publicity that would come with being showcased on ACL. As for me and my OCBD's, I stick with BB. I have one on now actually.

A few good 'stabs' in there against the poseurs, but with a light touch, and due respect for Lipshitz. Bravo.

You should run a follow-up on Mercer and Sons (www.mercerandsons.com) shirts. I googled them based on Boyer's mention. What a great company, and what nice people David & Serena are. I will be ordering my first batch of shirts very soon.

Excellent article, really proves my point of timeless classics that remain firm in the face of trends. Lots of wonderful and interesting bits in this interview.

it's so nice to see Ivy again...it's the only way my mother (from New England) ever referred to any of the stuff everyone else (in Virginia) called "preppy"

(didn't Love Story sort of usher in the term preppy? which might tell you something, right there...)

My parents referred to the way they dressed in High School in the early 60's as "Collegiate". Have to ask them if they ever used the term Ivy.
