WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THIS WEBSITE?!!???!!!

It used to be my first stop every day for the clothes, tips and great pieces like the “fall look” series but this site has been derailed. Spring lines are popping up every day on every other site, pieces from designers and what not. Where are you? I don’t want youtube clips, pictures of cabins or any other nonsense. You don’t need to update a 10 times a day like Ryan Williams but you can get your second wind. Are you going to parties? Is it the lunch with designers (hickey), has the curtain been pulled back for you because of this site and now you’ve gone and left us behind. Your talent and taste made me a fan but I must be honest when I say I now visit this site when I remember to at the end of the day. It’s no longer my first stop in the morning.

    TC —

“Spring lines are popping up every day on every other site, pieces from designers and what not. Where are you?”

If you see it everywhere else, why do I need to do it here?

Nothing has changed for me, ACL is the same way it has always been. No offense, but I do this for me…not you. Sorry to say. If you don’t like it, express that opinion by not coming back — not by saying I have fallen off or I am too busy “going to parties.” I’m sure my advertisers would be upset by me saying that, oh wait, I don’t have advertisers.

    ACL

P.S. I like going to parties and I went to lunch with designers pre-ACL and will post-ACL. I’m not a fucking accountant.

    chad on January 27, 2009 11:13 PM:

    Fuck Yeah, Mike.

    Veronika on January 27, 2009 11:50 PM:

    Let’s do lunch.

    manshion on January 27, 2009 11:55 PM:

Fuck yea, indeed. What sets Mr. Williams apart from the other bloggers (and above, might I add) is that he doesn’t just sit back regurgitate the news. As a blogger myself (don’t worry, I’m plenty not proud saying that), I will tell you that’s basically what I do on a sick day. That’s crap. No, what Mike does is something else. He’s creating content. There is thought and not just commentary on others’ news stories. The sum of ACL is much greater than its parts in that it creates a backdrop for much of the fashion trends we currently see and, more importantly, some inspiration for the future. Alright, done. Still my first stop.

    Clint on January 27, 2009 11:56 PM:

Mike — Dude, your response to TC was fucking awesome. I’m new to this site, but I’m sticking around now.

    Neil on January 28, 2009 1:22 AM:

Love the clips mike, keep ’em comming

    Warren on January 28, 2009 3:23 AM:

The best one is right after he asks why they’d go to the Russians. So exasperated.

I wonder if all Cohen brothers movies have fuck-reels on YouTube?

    Erick O. on January 28, 2009 4:00 AM:

I only visit this site and valet. Keep up the good work.

Preppy Pauper on January 28, 2009 6:59 AM:

John Malkovich is the Sir Laurence Olivier of Fuck!

    Sid W on January 28, 2009 10:03 AM:

    What the fuuuuuuuuuuuck???

John George on January 28, 2009 10:39 AM:

    Good for you Mike!

The scene when he’s on the phone with the bank is my favorite part of an otherwise subpar Cohen Bros. offering.

Sam Jacobs on January 28, 2009 11:28 AM:

Well put, Mike. I’ve been reading for a good amount of time now. This is not a site about clothes. It’s a site about…actually I don’t know. I don’t think it’s that focused. I guess you could say it’s about style. Yeah, style. And style isn’t just clothes. Keep up the good work!

    thefoggymonocle on January 28, 2009 3:44 PM:

I agree, Warren. His Russian-WTF is hysterical just for the pure exasperation of it all. Whaat the fuuuuuck? For some reason Malkovich’s role in Burn After Reading really reminds me of Steve Buscemi’s in The Big Lebowski. Obviously the two characters are very different, but the similarity lies in what the Coen Brothers are doing with audiences’ preconceptions of who these people are as actors. Buscemi had been typically playing a motor mouth (think Fargo), so in Lebowski they give him virtually no lines (and a friend who constantly tells him to “shut the fuck up” when he tries to speak. Likewise, Malkovich tends to play these highly articulate characters, so in Burn After Reading, the Coens — despite the fact that his character is supposedly smart — have him wander around the movie in disbelief, only capable of screaming “what the fuck?!” It’s just genius and hilarious. As for ACL, it’s just plain genius, so TC why don’t you do us all a favor and take your comments elsewhere.

    JD on January 29, 2009 4:32 PM:

That clip is now part of my morning routine. Never stops being funny. Didn’t see the movie, not sure I need to. Malk is brilliant and so perfectly miscast.

Thanks Mike. Truly made my week.

    Rahm on February 11, 2009 1:54 AM:

Hilariously absurd when you get a juxtaposition of all those Malkovich f-bombs.

My only complaint is that the editor omitted the best one of the movie. I swear he said (in the first scene), “This is an f**king crucifixion!”

    ReRack on February 15, 2009 1:42 AM:

    Whats the fucking point anyway?
