Best throwback style yet. The best is that you know the Browns style rocks when in the lower third score bar they either have a pic of the helmet or the color orange. The Browns could have easily adopted a dog as its official mascot in the 70s-90s or brought back the "brownie" elf but they remained true. God bless the Browns.

I went to school in Ohio, and grew to appreciate the uniforms and the rabid fans (even though I'm a MD native). The Monday night uniforms with the number on the helmet looked great, lots of vintage cool there. After watching Penn States game today, I caught myself thinking I hope they NEVER change their uniforms. I absolutely love their simplicity. I also am a fan of Michigans helmet, but today I saw the new jersey style (the streak on the side of the jersey) and I'm not a fan. Ohio State also another classic look that wasn't included in Paul's list.

College football has by far the best old-school uniforms. Penn State, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Nebraska have really classic looks. You can't beat the college traditions.

I just recently became an addict of this blog. I love the old school feel and style. I grew up in Canton and lived in Cleveland for 4 years of college. This post has taken this blog from great to terrific in my mind. Thank you, and Go Brownies.

I'm glad they have never messed with the uniforms - the throwback helmet numbers were a nice touch, though, especially considering that last night was a classic Browns performance - unexpectedly outperforming a seemingly unbeatable foe.

I wish football coaches still dressed like Paul Brown & co.

Anyone know what font they use for the number on the throwback helmets?

I grew up in Baltimore, and as a fan of the Ravens, I have to agree with you, Mr. Collective. The unis are just plain ugly. They were ok when they had the crest on them, but they never should have existed at all. The Ravens, like the Browns, should have been allowed to keep their name and unis after the Colts were stolen from the city.
