Love it or hate it the Full English breakfast is, in a word, badass. I stumbled across this set of full English images by the Brighton, England based photographer Kevin Meredith, and had to post them. New Yorkers can get a full English at The Red Lion or The London Bar. Once you’ve had your brekie, you can get an angioplasty here.

Black pudding & chips…delicious. Not to mention a great hangover cure. Of course, the accompanying pint also helps with that.
Awesome shots. “The fried English breakfast was conceived during the Industrial Revolution as a form of fast fuel for a working class that actually worked. They ate 3,000 calories in the morning, then they burnt 3,000 calories by lunchtime. Or died when the mine collapsed.” From the London Times.
I don’t think I’ve had a breakfast that wasn’t vegetarian in years. Eggs I don’t miss much, but sausage: NOM NOM NOM (as the kids say).
A vote for Lennie’s Snack Bar or Pellici’s. Still haven’t found that cut of bacon here (U.S.).
Foxtrot Oscar in London (down the street from the Army Muesem on Hospital Rd) had a killer mixed grill. So did the restaurant in Blakes. My fave was The Fox and Anchor but I heard it closed. Blood sausage…is there anything better for a hangover? Maybe a couple Berocca, yeah?
You want beans with that, yea?
Had a go at this in the style of Russell Davies eggs, bacon, chips, and beans.

Just got done cooking and eating a full one. Eggs, Lincolnshire sausages, grilled mushrooms, baked beans on toast, oven baked chips…Imagine the satisfaction I felt when I read your post. Nothing like it! I used to be a vegetarian before I came to London.
Great – love it! As an American tourist, I have consumed many of these in B&B places around Britain. My usual mo is to go for the full monty on the first day and then subtract items on subsequent mornings until only the Weta-Bix, OJ, and coffee remain. Bon Appetit!
Back bacon can be found in the USA. Takes some effort to get a good one. I’ve ordered some from Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor and been very pleased.
yummy. i love it.
Scrummy!! Thanks for posting. This brings back memories. Nothing better with which to soak up the lager. I used to get a full breakfast at one of the various cafes in South Kensington. Love the tomato.
@nick : there isn’t any place in the world as good as Zingerman’s. I literally dream about it.
