Summer Essentials | Swimwear

Since it is Friday and it’s going to be hot and humid this weekend in NYC, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out the swim suit shopping report on Refinery29. The credits read like a list of ACL’s favorites – A.P.C., Rogues Gallery, Blackbird, Oak, Steven Alan, plus a bunch more. Good stuff. Two swimsuits I would have liked to see in the guide are the super low-tech Santa Ana, CA based Birdwell Britches and this Reyn Spooner bathing suit that I like to wear poolside while sipping my Dark N’ Stormy.

Keeping with the Madras theme, check out this great A.P.C. bathing suit.

Great post. I have a pair of red Birdwell board shorts. An American beach classic. I’ve seen a pair of the Reyn Spooner shorts, but they do not look as if they would stay on for long in the surf. Thanks for the A.P.C. referral. I’m actually looking for a pair of trad madras board shorts.

these are all wonderful shorts, but doesn’t it bother anyone that seersucker shorts can cost upwards of 100 dollars? You can buy the fabric and have these sewn for less than 20 bucks…
