As a life long gal from this area – I can definitely say – YES – the elephant’s trunk flea used to rock hard. Then one day it started to cost a buck to get in, but it still had it’s moments of brilliance. Then the vendor fee went to 50.00 bux and cost us TWO dollars to enter. There are not many flea markets, in fact hardly ANY that charge for the average person to enter. Now, it is alot of the same dealers, with the same 60 dollar plate every year or 50 dollar warped elvis record. I have not been (won’t go anymore) for many years. It’s very sad to me. Should be -twenty dollar fee (maybe 35, this is fairfield county after all!) and free admission, that is when we’ll return.
That is the buzz from both dealers and shoppers ~ the elephant’s trunk has been going downhill for a while, even though it costs more to get there!
Probably fun for an out-of-towner though. Kathy

I love the Elephant Trunk Flea Market!
I use to go all the time when I lived in CT, thanks for reminding me. I really should go back.
